Journal#18 questions for connecting gee and amy cuddy

  1. Underline keywords as you read. See if you can define these in the margins.

Meta-Knowledge: Knowledge about preselected knowledge. This is how people who can not master a discourse pretend that they have mastered a discourse to further there life.

Mushfake discourse: The best you can do with not knowing the total discourse and not having enough info to back it up.

2.Gee offers two controversial theorems (9-11). Paraphrase or put them into your own words, then explain why they are controversial.

First theorem:You can not be in a single discourse unless you are fully fluent in this discourse. You can not fully portray and identity (discourse) unless you are fully  fluent. if you look like you don’t belong you are put into the category non-member.

Second theorem: All primary discourse are limited. Your primary discourse can only go so far it can not carry you with meta-knowledge through other discourses.

3.Use your annotations to pose a question of your own: what do you most want to clarify or discuss about these two readings together?

Body language and discourses are two peas in a pod, if you can not portray the right body language, confidence and things of that sort are your body language everyone can really read your identity by your body and how you act.

I want to clarify the first and second theorem in class.

4. Two comments

My comments in my annotations had to do with the different vocabulary words. Meta-knowledge, and mush fake discourse.
