Journal #9

In the pages we read Alexander talks about her experiments in the english field and the different polls that were taken during literacy narrative writing. Alexander talks about how some students use mastery narratives when they write about a child prodigy which is something that comes from a strong belief as a child she uses kids who rebel against other classes and strictly read. These are the kids who grow up to be english child prodigies they constantly would rather read then do work. The next part of her story was about little narratives and what they do for people. A little narrative talks about specific events, and these take up 70% of students. Someone will most likely choose a specific event in there life to talk about. These are the heroes the victims and the rebels. The thing that surprised me the most about this was that kids who grew up with a privileged  lives were the first to claim the victim card. I thought this would be opposite and that people with a lower class stature would call the victim card. This experiment or poll was interesting because it shows how students identify themselves and what background they come from.
