Journal #11

In gee a particularly potent example is when he talks about what a discourse actually is and how it actually works. A discourse is a sort of identity kit in which people claim there identity with the what where how. In  William’s piece he talks about how people claim certain identities when writing a narrative so both of these things I can make connections with. Even tho gee says you can’t necessarily walk into a discourse well in williams mind while you are writing at least you can.

Another solid example would be from williams and Alexander when they talk about the different types of literacy narratives they both bring up how students take different approaches to writing the narratives because they feel different ways about writing. This is important in our writings because that is what paper 1 will be about. This relates to “I say” a lot because all three of these people are scholars but do we really have to believe what they are telling us?
