Consider page 5, 2nd and 3rd full para: Do you share Kelley’s agony when you are stripped of the internet? Do you feel “amputated”? Lost? How do you cope?
When Kelley talks about being “amputated” I can say that yes I do feel the same if I was sent to do a complete english essay or a research paper and was forced to use strictly paper or books and no internet sources I would be completely lost and honestly probably would not get it done. If my phone gets taken away I am okay for a couple of days, but eventually I get uneasy and need it back.
How does your own ideas about this fit with “growth mindset” vs. “fixed mindset”?
I would say with this I have a fixed mindset especially with technology i have had it all Of my life and to take it away from me right now would be like taking away a daughter or a son to a mother. I keep my phone close to me. I would say that I have a fixed feeling about this.
Does your response say anything about the power of the internet and your relationship with it?
I would say yes the internet has a hold on me but the internet has also never hurt me, and I think that is why people come back. I also can say the internet has helped me in many occasions a light comes on in the car boom you can look up the signal and know how to fix it within seconds. There are endless uses to technology and anyone who denies that lives under a rock.
