  • What are you noticing about your tutees’ reading strategies?

The thing I notice the most with my tutee’s reading strategies is that they are not taking enough time to annotate the text they are rushing into the writing portion and not giving themselves the time to get the information to write.

  • What is the relationship between their reading and drafting?

“They jump into the water before they get there feet wet” that quote is true to there drafting process as well before they have educated themselves on the information they decide to draft. This makes them seem like they don’t understand but when you look at how they have annotated it becomes clear they need help with that.

  • Which strategies have you tried out or will you try out why?

Showing them any of my previous readings where I have annotated before writing a major paper and show them how much it could help them. Also have lately been showing them how to make a good plan before you even start drafting. Answering questions for the prompt in short sentences then you can expand on them.

  • Take a look at the examples starting on p. 109—have you experienced any of these?

not yet.
