In this text the author is talking about different inventions around the world that have made someone or multiple peoples lives easier. It also talks about the kind of world we are living in today, and how peoples lives are basically shaped around this technological world. Making things easier is a way where people can become lazy and out of touch with who they really are. Another big point in this article was talking about how people miss are basically hardwired to read differently because of the over use of technology.

In a  response to what I read I could not agree more with what I thought the main arguments were in this paper. In my personal experience people do read differently I know I do, and I almost never read something completely I scan it for the important things and annotate which things look and seem important. It is a way like the paper says to efficiently read It takes far too long in this day and age to actually read something completely, and when time is crunching you have to find ways to move around the everyday things. Technology and the invention of the clock has made this world into a place where speed is above all else.
