Journal #30

In the trials and tribulations of ENG 122-123 I have come to the realization that having two semesters of english make you understand the concept better and appreciate what english can do for you.

there are on the other hand recommendations that I would like to make as someone who came through not expecting to do well.

  1. Do away with the thought that you are not good at english and get in the growth mindset habit. Growth mindset at least in my first semester was a huge part of me becoming the student I am today. In the beginning of the semester I expected to coast by, but now I feel confident when I write not just for this class but for other classes as well.
  2. Do not fall behind on journals and other assigned work. This is a college course so you can expect that the work load is no joke. The one piece of advice on this would be to do it when it is due. Falling behind on journals only means that you will have a heavy work load towards the end of the semester.
  3. Be able to show up to class and be present when you are here. The class is based off of journals 2 papers and participation. Participating in class is how I personally learn and that has helped me this entire semester. It has been helpful to speak up in class because if you say something not completely right you can get corrected. Participation in this class is key.
